Hobby Projects
Here you can find my personal hobby projects and small programming exercises of mine, created in just a few days or weeks.
Title: Space Fighter
Genre: Serious Game
Engine: UnityEngine, C#
Platform: PC, MacOS
Learnings: First experience with game engines
This is the first game I ever finished making, and therefore has a special place in my heart, despite its simplicity.Just a simple Space Shooter that also allows you to get rid of aliens by punching them with extendable wings or roast them with fire from the jet engine.
Title: Lot's Salty Wife
Genre: Puzzle Game
Engine: UnityEngine, C#
Platform: PC, MacOS
Learnings: Tile Maps, Faking Depth in 2D Games
A silly little puzzle game I made for a small game jam. You play the biblical figure Lot pushing his wife through five levels after she became a pillar of salt, because she dared to look at the destruction of Sodom by the hand of god. It's a bit unpolished, it doesn't even have sound, but I still like the humor and overall mood I put into this.
Title: Lonely Number Buddy
Genre: Number Guessing Game
Engine: UnityEngine, C#
Platform: PC, MacOS
Learnings: State Machines
A simple programming exercise for learning state machines, for a minor subject at my university. Since I already had a little experience with programming, I went all in to put as much detail and charme as possible into it in the time I was given, without spoiling its simplicity.
Title: Last Remaining Archer
Genre: Shoot'em Up
Engine: UnityEngine, C#
Platform: PC, MacOS
Learnings: Enemy Behaviour, Renarrativization
Another, slightly more complex programming exercise: Writing a clone of Space Invaders. I decided to set the game in the blank opposite of Futurustic Space Travel: Medieval Fantasy Battles! After almost an entire army of men falls in battle against demonic forces, only one single archer remains, trying to hold the lines against orcs, gremlins, cyclopses and dragons as long as possible!
Title: Hibernation Preparation
Genre: Jump'n Run
Engine: UnityEngine, C#
Platform: PC, MacOS
Learnings: Character Physics, Camera Movement, Color Palettes
The final programming exercise for the subject, a simple 2D platformer. The squirrel Nelly needs to gather as many nuts as possible before winter arrives... which comes quite fast, you can literally see the seaons ticking by as you jump and climb around the tree to look for nuts in every nook and cranny! You need to hurry, but be careful not to touch the thorns, or you will loose a bunch of them!
